staying up late

staying up late

I haven’t had my camera out much lately. I can always tell when I’m depressed because I don’t feel motivated to shoot for fun. Staying up late last night, I happened to look into my kitchen. The dark window, small light on…I thought, “That looks like a picture. Something I don’t want to forget”. And so I snapped a couple shots.

Nothing ground breaking but that’s okay. It’s really just about capturing a moment.

I love this post. I have such fond memories of the house I grew up in, and many of them are visual images related to lighting. Sunlight coming in through the living room windows on a summer afternoon. Late-night snacks in the kitchen by the glow of the under-cabinet light. The fiery glow of the sun shining through my brother’s orange bedroom curtains. I often wonder if August will have such memories of this house. I hope so.

Angie – You should have a blog.

Ha! It would be horribly dull, I fear. I briefly entertained the idea of starting a vegan cooking blog since my husband is vegan, and everything I make at home is vegan. But there are plenty of other vegans out there who are far more creative in their cooking than I am, so I decided to leave the blogging to them. Plus, my food photography (and all my photography, quite frankly) leaves much to be desired!
