Wow, what a year. 2010 really knocked me on my butt. I decided instead of reflecting, I would just look forward to 2011. It HAS to be better, right? I’m not really one to come up with resolutions but I do think they are a nice idea. I thought I would just make a list of goals for the year.
- Go to the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago. I’ve been wanting to go for years but usually have a wedding or sessions scheduled. This year it’s going on the calendar and we are going!
- Deeper blogging.
- Convince Sondra to move back home to Illinois.
- Find a balance between work and home. I spent most of 2010 feeling stressed about having too many sessions to process. I’d like to get smarter about scheduling and not feel guilty if I have to say no.
- Go on a little vacation as a family even if just overnight somewhere.
- Continue developing family traditions.
- Become more financially stable. I’m thinking it would be nice to have more than $20 in the checking at the end of the month. When I first asked Josh what some goals for us would be this year he said, “Keep our house”. Indeed.
- Introduce Jasper to more music. So far we haven’t found anything he doesn’t like. I will never forget the day we played some jazz for him, specifically this song by Herbie Hancock. He was completely mesmerized. I want more of that.
- Shoot more Polaroids and film.
- Find the patience to go thrifting and antiquing. I often times get frustrated with thrift stores because there is so much to look through. I always feel like I have to look at everything because otherwise I’ll miss something great.
- Create more art.
- Figure out what causes all of my headaches. Is it food related? Would something like acupuncture help?
- Flirt with my husband more. Come up with a date night plan.
- Potty train Jasper.
- Get up earlier. Josh is going to be going to work earlier. I’d like to get up the same time as him and have time before Jasper gets up to get work done. Note to self: research how to become a morning person.
- Finish Jasper’s playroom.
- Send more cards and letters.
- Find more peace and joy in everyday life.

I LOVE how you wrote to convince Sondra to move back home to Illinois. :)
Very cute post and picture. Did you paint that? Oh..if you need a friend to go to the craft fair with…let me know. Love Chicago!
awesome list of goals, kimberly! you can do EVERY single one!
I love your list of goals! I’d agree that you can do EVERY single one…… except maybe the convincing me to move back home to Illinois part. ;) Although I did like seeing that. I’ve been missing you all a lot more the past few days, since I got to be with you again. It’s not that I don’t WANT to be there, I just don’t think it’s where I’m supposed to be right now. I’ve never talked to God about anything more in my life, I don’t think.
But, I would lovvve to come home and go antiquing/thrifting/craft fairing with you sometime. :) Miss you, love you! <3
What an awesome list of goals!
Renegade Craft Fair. I’m in. Seriously. When they post the 2011 date, I will go with you. It looks 100% awesome.
White Flower Oil (embrocation.50webs.com) was introduced to me by my mother. During one of my headaches, she gave me this tiny bottle of oil and told me to massage it on my temples and forehead. Amazingly, it worked! Somehow the oil penetrates into the affected area and relieves the pain.
