decorations

My house looked so bare after I took down the Christmas decorations. I have never decorated for Valentine’s Day before but I thought it seemed like a good idea this year.

Valentine's Day Mantel

I cut out loads of hearts from paper I had to make a little garland.

Josh made me this little tree right before Christmas. I liked it so much I thought I would leave it up. So I used some of the paper hearts and made little ornaments for it. I also had made a bunch of pom poms forever ago. Finally got them made into a garland and hung that down the stairs.

vases

I got little beaded sprigs on clearance for 75 cents each. I spray painted them white and put them in vases I already had.

XO

Then I painted two little canvases with an X and O.

I only spent $4.25 since I had everything but the beady things and white spray paint. Not too shabby and the house looks happier!

I love that you’re painting/creating so much lately. I definitely enjoyed getting my paints back out last month and wondered why I hadn’t done so sooner. I enjoy it, even if I’m not particularly talented. I think that’s one of the biggest lies we can buy into. That we shouldn’t do something just because we aren’t a master of it. I think the process of creating in and of itself is so therapeutic and brings so much joy. Probably straight from God, He is a Creator and has put in us that same desire and spark to create. Anyway… your house looks adorable as always and I miss you!

Very cute idea! It’s always a bummer to me that I only decorate my house for Halloween, Fall & Christmas which leaves 9 months with nothing! I think you may have inspired me to do something in honor of V-Day!
